In total, more than 38 million passengers have travelled to and from Avinor airports so far this year. This is more than 3 per cent higher than the same time last year.
Record at Oslo Airport
2,235,097 passengers travelled to and from Oslo Airport in September, an increase of 4.4 per cent compared with the same month in 2013. International traffic increased by 6 per cent.
“It is of course gratifying for us that we continue to see an increase in the number of passengers,” says Lasse A. Vangstein, spokesman at Oslo Airport.
A record was also set at Oslo Airport on Friday, 26 September. Never before have so many passengers travelled from the airport on a single day, when 52,657 passengers flew from Oslo Airport.
Large increase in Alta
Traffic growth at Alta Airport is significant at 8 per cent.
“The main reason is that Norwegian has increased the capacity of its Oslo route by about 25 per cent, while we are also seeing increased activity related to petroleum activities in the Barents Sea,” says Airport Manager Charles Kristiansen.
